Living in South Florida gives us the privilege to admire breathtaking landscapes and colorful skies on the daily basis. While the average Miamian may start a night out on the town no earlier than midnight, no one can resist the views of magic hour and the golden sunset that follows. We’ve gathered a few of our favorite places to celebrate the palette of the South Florida sky in Key Biscayne.

The Rusty Pelican is one of Miami’s most iconic restaurants. Known for its elegant waterfront setting and floor-to-ceiling windows with impeccable views of Biscayne Bay and Downtown Miami, this popular restaurant is perfect for sunset. Pair your views with an agave sunset margarita and soak up the views glittering across the bay.

Whether you’re entertaining visitors or just wanting to indulge in something beautiful on your own, a dinner at Rusty Pelican is a fundamental experience. The astonishing skyline scenery on Rickenbacker Causeway is enough to prompt tears. (For best results, play your favorite Ed Sheeran song on repeat with a side of rosé.) 3201 Rickenbacker Cswy., Key Biscayne

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, at the southern tip of Key Biscayne, is a treasure. With rugged sand dunes leading to a tranquil beach and unlimited ocean views as far as the eye can see, it’s a piece of unspoiled old Florida. The water is typically tranquil here, thanks to a barrier reef located six miles offshore. You can visit the historic lighthouse built in the 1820s, and follow nature trails that wind through the park. For refreshments, Boater’s Grill and the Lighthouse Café offer authentic Cuban fare in rustic settings. There are also shaded picnic pavilions if you bring your own food. Come sunset, Bill Baggs is one of the only places in Miami where you can watch the sun sink directly into the ocean.
